SAMADHAN KENDRA is a Rural Information Technology centre created to benefit the community in rural areas. Samadhan Kendra's aim to give a holistic approach to solve various problems faced by the farmers. The centre provides necessary information pertaining to the agriculture system prevalent in that area i.e., pest disease information system (PDIS) on the major crops grown in that particular study area, types of control measures to be adopted etc., In addition, the Samadhan Kendra also gives information about the seed management, quality of seeds & its availability, availability of quality fertilizer its procurement, application of dosages, schedule to be adopted etc. The Kendra also enables the farmer and the local populace to know about the details of various Govt. schemes, subsidies/offers and loan facility of nationalized banks for agriculture and for education etc. Farmers who are desirable of availing loans can download the relevant application forms from the Samadhan Kendra.
Samadhan Kendra, a rural IT center will be located in a village which forms the economic and administrative center for 15 to 30 villages of a tehsil. This center would provide a number of IT related services in the areas of agriculture, health and educational aspects, much needed to the rural people as per their local needs. One of the most important aspects covered amongst IT related services is the provision and dissemination of decision support systems for local planning and information access to the rural public.
The software developed is designed to be adopted locally and updated regularly with provision to add more topics in response to specific local requirements. Each center would also be able to link to a network of such centers with the help of internet connectivity so as to reach out to relevant web sites.

- One Samadhan Kendra can serve the purpose of 22 villages approximately so that 88,000 population (@4,000 average population/village)
Requirements for Samadhan Kendra establishment
- One dedicated room (14’x20’) with infrastructure like table, chairs, stationary etc.,
- One desktop computer (with basic configuration), printer, scanner, internet connection, 5 KV UPS etc.,
- A graduate person to take care of the queries of farmers and maintain the Kendra.

Her Excellency the former President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil Launched the India Development Gateway (InDG) Portal on 4th July 2008 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi and IICT is a lead partner in InDG in which “SAMADHAN KENDRA” is an integral part of the portal.
