Design & Engg.
The Design and Engineering Division (D&E) was established as an independent major Division of the CSIR-IICT in 1974. The Division has a unique opportunity to be associated with process plant projects right from the process development stage, through pilot plant studies, scale-up and basic engineering stages, which are niche areas of expertise of CSIR-IICT
The thrust area of work of D&E Division is detailed engineering which completes the chain, leading to seamless technology transfer. The D&E Division is the only one of its kind group in CSIR which is engaged in detailed engineering of pilot and commercial scale process plants. Over the years, the activities of the Division have been expanded to include process safety studies as a major partner in CSIR-IICT's PROSAC group, laboratory and biotech facility design and applied research in areas related to process equipment and piping
The Division has a team of dedicated manpower with vast experience in the use of latest computer-aided methods in the detailed design of process plants. The D&E Division has been associated with other CSIR Institutes and various EPC consultants like TNO (Netherlands), DNV Technica (Norway), Dalal Consultants, Tata Projects, Humphreys & Glasgow, Davy Powergas, UHDE, Resource Projects, Toyo Engineering and R J Associates.
